Avon Accentuates Accessories by PJ Gach EDGE Style Contributor Thursday Apr 27, 2006
| We all want to be glam, fabulous and gorgeous without having to sacrifice,
oh say rent and sanity, right? Well I’ve checked around and Avon lets you get the latest, hottest accessories without
having to fight crowds, parking lots, and general shopping insanity. Not only will you be able to buy the coolest looks right
now, you could even go a tad overboard without destroying your budget. Avon has stepped up to the plate and has bags (and
more) that even the most discerning fashionista won’t sniff at.
One of the biggest trends this season is metallics.
Bronze, silver, pewter, gold; these shiny colors will be with us straight through next winter. Every designer had metallic
accents and details in the spring/summer and fall/winter collection.
It's a bit preppy with a metallic twist that makes it modern If you want
some shimmer in your life, but don’t want to blind anyone, take a look at Avon’s striped metallic tote ($20).
Sequined silver, gold and bronze stripes alternate with earth tone ones. The bag is lined in a cheerful bright green; inside
there are three slit pockets; perfect for keeping your cell phone, lipstick or card case in one handy spot. And you still
have room for a book, flip flops or anything else you want to stuff in there. The bag’s basic structure is designed
to assist you in looking chic, not like a tote queen. This one bag was road-tested with a sweater and flip flops- other than
the ’carrier,’ no one else knew what was lurking in the bag...
This bag can be Boho or Hampton; you decide Avon’s slouchy crochet
bag ($20), is built like a hobo- long and 15 inches deep; so yes, again you can throw everything but a small live animal in
there and still look chic. The crochet fabric, shell and beaded tassels accent ring that dangles from the front flap dresses
this baby up and makes it versatile enough to be used at a roof top party wearing linen capris or sunning at the beach in
a suit that hang off a ring...
Mirror, mirror on the wall Have you been yearning for a certain designer’s
much admired "it" bag, but blanche at the price? Blowing more than $2,000 for a bag that you’re going to beat up sometimes
doesn’t make sense. This is why you’ll love Avon’s Cargo Pocket Satchel ($25). You get a sleek chic bag
you can take everywhere, and you’ll have money left over to actually put it into the bag.
A gal's best friends What is warm weather’s most important accessory?
What is a gal’s favorite thing? Oh, c’mon, you know the answer...shoes! And when it’s warm all those sexy
sandals can come out and play.
These wedges were made for walking Wanna flirt with your feet? These metallic
square sequin flip flops ($20) are a great frame for your pedicure. They’ll look fab poking out from under a pair of
jeans, or pair them with a cute skirt. The three inch wedge cork heels let you rise above any occasion.
Casual and cute take you anywhere For a casual look, try Avon’s grommet
detailed sandals ($25). A two and a half inch wedge heel will give you some stretch, but they’re low enough to wear
with shorts.
It's a Mod 'Olsen' world Get your inner Lina Wertmuller or Olson twin on
with these white framed sunglasses ($13). Rhinestone accents dot the arms, just for a bit of flash.
Flirty Aviators Doing a diva like the butterfly Miss Mariah? Then check out
these blue-lensed aviator frames with butterfly accents ($13).
This spring and summer,
you can be on top of the fashion pack without breaking a sweat. To buy any of our favorites by Avon, or to see the other fun
(and super cute) accessories they’re selling, simply go to www.avon.com Rather go through the catalog? Simply call 1-800-500- 2866 to find an Avon rep near you.
